What is a Three Phase Generator?
Last week we launched an article explaining the function of an inverter generator (click here to read it). This week we are tackling three phase generator! And no we are not talking about some alien from Star Trek with three phasers. In fact generators come in one of two different types of power output. Single phase and three phase. Now, three phase generator are usually more expensive than single phase but that is for good reason. They produce three separate waves of AC current in a sequence. Whereas single phase only produce one. This means they can provide much more reliable and consistent power to single phase. For this reason, most national power grids use three phase current to transfer power. If you want to know more about three phase power, this You Tube video is a must watch (click here)!
